With Englewood's Finest in tow, Englewood and neighboring residents celebrated the donation of a new Torah Scroll to Congregation Ahavath Torah by Raphael and Linda Benaroya. The Scroll was hand written in the Holy City of Jerusalem. It took a year for it to be hand written, by a religious scribe. Even the custom made Sephardic silver casing was designed by hand. The Torah Scroll was donated in memory of Jacob Benaroya, who lived in Tenafly, NJ and passed away one year ago. Mayor Wildes was given the honor of writing the last letter of the Torah Scroll, with a quill, under the watchful eye of a Holy Scribe.
