| Flat Rock and You If you'd like to give just a few hours a month to Flat Rock, we could use your help! Here's how: - BECOME A DOCENT! On weekends, when we have no office manager working, we always need enthusiastic volunteers to answer questions, give out information, and assist the staff. This gives Ranger Phil and I a chance to get outside with programs or to do some trail work for a couple of hours. If you could donate 2 hours a month on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon to greet visitors, we would love to have you! I will personally train you, so please contact me at 201-567-1265 or email at frbjenny@aol.com for more information. -MEMBERS' DAY! Each October, FRB has a special event just for members and their families. This year, Members' Day will be held on Sunday, October 24th from 1-5 pm, and volunteers will be needed to man activity tables, refreshments, and games. If you could help out for a couple of hours, please contact me ASAP. -BE A TRAIL GUIDE! Each year, Flat Rock Brook works with 3,000 area school children, teaching them about the wonders of the natural world. If you or someone you know like working with children and spending time outdoors, and are available some weekday mornings in the spring and fall, join the Trail Guides. The FRB Trail Guides receive training on a myriad of natural history topics, take educational field trips, and present 8 different lessons to children of all ages in groups of 10-15 children. You will increase your natural history knowledge, make new friends, and reap the rewards of teaching enthusiastic children in a place we all love. Contact me if you'd like more information about this wonderful program. Thanks so much, Jenny Gaus Education Director
