Rock Brook Nature Center Celebrates
30th Anniversary with Gala Party May 8
Flat Rock Brook Nature
Association In Englewood, New Jersey will celebrate its 30th anniversary
at a festive party at the Nature Center--complete with cocktail buffet,
open bar, historical display, music, and dancing--on Saturday, May 8,
from 7:30 to 10:30 pm. Black tie optional.Valet parking.
The gala will commemorate thirty years of extraordinary growth and progress,
made possible by the loyalty and volunteerism of Flat Rock Brook members
and the exceptional devotion and hard work of board members through the
years. The Association will be especially honoring several such outstanding
leaders. The Association's highest award, the Campbell Norsgaard Award,
for "notable contributions to the twin causes of environmental preservation
and environmental education" will go to Carolyn Stenzel, former president
of the Board of Trustees, trail guide, and all around environmental advocate.
Trustee Awards for their invaluable service in so many ways will be given
to Norman Davis, former president, treasurer, and current honorary trustee;
Gallya Gordon, former trustee, longtime trail guide, and master gardener;
and David Nichols, former trustee and first vice president, chair of many
special events, and generous contributor.
The Nature Center invites all members and friends of Flat Rock Brook to
join in saluting Flat Rock Brook and its extraordinary leaders on May
8. Invitations will be mailed to members in April. Ticket prices per person
are in the following range: Silver Leaf, $100; Gold Leaf, $150; Platinum
Leaf, $200. If you are not a member of the Association and would like
