Immigration Issues and Their Impact
On Our Communities

A Forum for Bergen County Leaders and Residents
Hosted by Michael Wildes, Esq.
Mayor of Englewood and Immigration Lawyer

Tuesday, May 6, 2008, 7:00 p.m.
Englewood Public Library
31 Engle St., Englevood, New Jersey

Recent changes in the implementation of immigration laws are having a negative impact not only on undocumented residents, but on their families and the communities in which they live. The forum will address why these changes in enforcement are happening, what rights all residents have, what is happening to children who are U.S. citizens when their parents are detained or deported, and what the responsibilities of local officials are. Panelists will include people with particular expertise in the field including an immigration lawyer; a representative from labor, members of the Governor 5 Blue Ribbon Advisory Panel on Immigrant Policy (tentative), a representative of the clergy and more. Personal stories of people who have been affected will
also be presented.
